I recently got a new SIM card and setting it up and transferring everything was a breeze. However, I soon realised that the signal in my area is absolutely awful, I mean it's truly terrible. Making a call without connecting to WiFi first is pretty much impossible. It's frustrating because what's the point of having a phone if you can't actually use it, hey? If you're in a location with poor coverage, I would suggest exploring alternative options.
SIM only contract
I recently signed up for a SIM only contract and it's actually quite good. It's a great deal, especially since I changed from a different network. The only issue is that the network coverage isn't fantastic where I live, but thankfully I can use VoWiFi. When I went to the US, it was a bit tricky and costly to use my phone there. I haven't been to Europe recently, so I haven't had the chance to take advantage of the free roaming there. But all in all, I appreciate the fixed costs of my contract.
Travel SIM card add-on
I wasn't sure at first, but I ended up buying the travel SIM card add-on for when I was going out of the EU. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the coverage was just as good as my regular provider. It worked flawlessly during my trip, and the leftover balance was taken out of my monthly bill without any problems.
No-contract, low cost, Wi-Fi Assist, Roaming in Europe, easy add-ons.
I recently bought something from this company and their customer service is top-notch. I went for a plan without a contract which is not only budget-friendly but also has great features like Wi-Fi Assist, so I can use my phone at home hassle-free. One of the best things for me is that I can roam in Europe with my regular plan, avoiding any unexpected fees when I travel. Plus, it's so easy to add extras for areas outside the EU. All in all, I'm really impressed with the service I've received from this company and would definitely suggest it to others.
SIM card
I popped into this place to grab a new SIM card for my phone. The staff were so helpful and patient, which was great because I can be a bit clueless with all this tech stuff sometimes. They took the time to explain everything to me and made sure I knew how to use it. I think this company is top-notch when it comes to customer service, and I'm grateful for that. Big thanks, Smarty!
Speedy and reliable internet service
I have been using this internet service from Smarty for a while and I have to say, it's been pretty smooth sailing since I started. The speeds are as good as they said they'd be, and I haven't had any big problems at all. There was a bit of downtime when they were doing some work nearby, but they let me know ahead of time so it wasn't too much of a hassle. All in all, I'm happy with the service I've been getting.
Customer service experience
My experience with the customer service at Smarty was so disappointing. I tried to get some help through their web chat, but it was just useless and really frustrating. I had to wait for ages to get a response, and when I did, it wasn't helpful at all. They didn't fix the problem I was having, so I ended up feeling really annoyed and unhappy. To be honest, the customer service at Smarty was just terrible.
My new cute phone case
I recently got this really cute phone case from here and I was really looking forward to using it! However, when I tried to put it on my phone, I had some trouble and needed some help. The technical team I reached out to was completely unhelpful and didn't even make an effort to assist me. I ended up spending so much time trying to figure it out by myself. I was really disappointed by the whole experience!
30GB plan
Sent me a sim that has caused problems. Sim was a different number from my number for example if my no is 079411xxxxx the number on the sim is 07828 xxxxxx. Has caused me problems with WhatsApp banking etc. Smarty hasn't done much to resolve this issue. You can't speak to anyone. Only chat. No escalation or customer service no. All they talk about us problems with my phone. But I tried it on 3 different phone including iPhone. All come with the same problem as my phone. You keep having to confirm security details despite talking to the same person. Coverage is poor. Well it is 3 network. I left EE it was to expensive. Think twice before joining smarty.
30 G
PHONE SIM BOUGHT IN GUERNSEY NOT WORKING AT ALL IN ENGLAND
HAD TO PAY ROAMING ADD ONS TO OPERATE IN GUERNSEY
BAD EXPERIENCE-HOW CAN YOU RESOLVE PLEASE??Smarty SIM
Dreadful customer service. Bought a SIM that I waited over a month for, by which time the money I spent had run out so had to spend another £10 to activate the phone, which then they couldn't do and spent all day in a chat trying. Rubbish.
Sim only
Dreadful. If you value your time and sanity do not go with this company. If you do have an issue you will lose precious hours of you life trying to no avail to sort it. They have zero customer service and do not seem to posses the technical knowledge to resolve an issue their end with porting a number over. I’m on the 4th day without my number and have come to conclusion I’ll be getting nowhere with them and will have to go back to my old provider. Great prices but not worth the hassle.
I ordered a new sim from smarty as i needed a nano not micro for new phone told them i will be keeping my number only they cut my phone off and left me without a service that i am paying for until new sim arrives .now i have no sim or service i think they need to change their ways on how to treat people all i could do was email messages and got no help .only kept saying we told you we would cut your service excuse me that was in an email after i ordered new sim but why cut you off when the sim has not yet been sent and you are still paying for the service all i needed was a nano not a micro so why cant i still use my sim until new one comes .shame on them they do not put customers first they soon show their true colours .
30GB data plan with unlimited calls
Avoid Smarty they have no regards for customer service they leave you disconnected!!!
Extremely bad customer service and no phone numbers to call they take a day to resolve issues - imagine being disconnected!!!
New customers avoid Smarty and existing customers watch out you will get disconnected if you make 'high calls - 2000 mins or above' even with unlimited call package.
I have unlimited calls 30 GB data plan yet this disconnected my line today without any prior notice or even asking me. They could only deal with my query over webchat and assistant said it's due to high calls over 2000 mins calls this month - i needed to explain reasons for high calls - when i explained due to covid19 more calls and connection is made with family and friends i was then told via webchat that it will take another day for someone to look into my account before it could be connected!
I am now left disconnected from family and friends in this covid-19 situation as i cannot make or receive calls and no regards to customer services.
When you have unlimited plan why do you have to explain for your calls
no number to call
cuts you off without any notice
webchat really unhelpful
you are left in the dark waiting in this given time
All be careful before you sign to their cheap offers they do not care about customer service - you cannot talk to anyone - go with plusnet 3g or others!!!doesn't activate as it should.
signed up to a plan with a SMARTY sim card, put it in my phone, created the account and it is telling me awaiting number???? This should have activated nearly right away. Basically i am waiting on a new sim card coming??? Why has it not assigned the number i put in as per the instructions. Robots to talk to you, not a great start.
Smarty simcard
Terrible coverage on the network. Could not make calls or access mobile data in my own home. When I asked customer service why not, I was told that 3 needed to upgrade their masts!! ????
SIM only
After a very disappointing customer services experience with Three, who I'd been with for some years without any other issues, I shopped around for an alternative SIM deal and found SMARTY, I wish I hadn't.
I signed up for a SIM at £10pm for 4GB data and unlimited texts and minutes and money back for unused data in any month. SMARTY is a wholly owned subsidiary of Three and thus use their network though operate separately, just like NOW TV and Sky.
The SIM activation and number porting process went wrong from the start. The SIM wouldn't activate, the full instructions were not on the Activation web page and I was told porting my number would take a minimum of 2 business days, probably 3. When I ported to Three some time ago it was completed in half a day. A useless customer services agent named Callum tried and failed to assist.
After getting a bad feeling about the process I decided to quit, remain with Three and continue shopping for an alternative so I tod Callum to stop everything. He said he did but he actually didn't. He continued to port my number yet erased me as a customer thus leaving me without any 'phone service!
Rachael at SMARTY tried to fix the mess, unsuccessfully then, disastrously, Gary stepped in. He provided a PAC number for me to move my 'phone number back to Three or wherever else I decided. being in need of 'phone service I went back to Three, who actually gave me a better deal as a new customer!!
Using the PAC provided by SMARTY proved to be a nightmare as it was a bogus PAC which caused no end of problems at Three. Finally, nearly a week later (despite the best, or possibly worst, intentions of inept call centre customer services agents at Three) after talking with Claire at Three, she diagnosed the issue and sorted it out within 10 minutes and Three gave me generous credit on my account for my frustration.
Based on my experience, AVOID SMARTY!Sim
I’m very happy with this service..
Everything was very easy and straight forward.
I’m saving lots of money ????SIM Plan
Be aware that with this company there is no way to contact customer services if anything goes wrong. All they provide is a 'chat' service and that is currently only manned by auto-response bots. I am currently waiting fo ran answer to my account query and the system says they still have not even read that AFTER TWO DAYS!!!
How can OFCOMO allow a network operator to operate in UK when there is no way for customers to contact them?Sim card
Ordering great no problems sim arrived next day. Took a while for it to be registered on the network. However I have had to re register my sim 6 times in has many hours???. I have been unable to send or receive text . Telling everyone my new number.. I have received both a text message and email, informing me I am registered on the network but my phone and lack of service is telling the truth. The web support is a joke 21st century and they give a minimum of 24 hours to respond. I think that says it all 3 see smarty as a 2nd class service.
Waste of time and money
I gave up a good deal to come to this rubbish network.
All seemed okay - SIM arrived okay, activated okay, ported number okay, lifted restriction bar okay.
Then next day bar was back on. Settings on account say it is off and can use SIM in dongle but on iPhone the network will not permit access to sites it deems as 'adult'.
There is no-one to talk to regarding this as there are no customer service numbers for this network.
UTTER RUBBISH - AVOID

Key points to consider when choosing a telecom provider
There are currently so many companies offering telecom services and so many marketing techniques to catch hold of new customers, which makes it harder to see through the many offers and decide which provider to choose. The most relevant thing to keep in mind is that the provider should be a company that aligns best with your needs. Here are three basic qualities to look for when choosing a service provider:
Network reliability - check that the network is a fully converged one with a consolidated infrastructure that includes IP, Ethernet and optical technologies. Network convergence includes the coexistence of video, voice and data communication. Also, security and stability is a main concern, so always check that the network has all the needed protection to prevent service attacks, that it has the ability to restore their services fast with minimum or no impact to your activity and that the systems are constantly updated to offer the latest technology so it avoids performance issues and won’t stall the growth of your business.
Offers and support - check what products and services are provided by the company that best suit your needs. Telecom providers should offer a good amount of customization and options for their products and services that adapt to your specific needs. Some of us need more data, some need more voice, some need faster internet, etc. Make sure you are choosing the best option depending on your activity and that these options also don’t come with unnecessary burdens of services and expenses that you aren’t interested in.
Customer support - make sure they have quality customer support. There are so many occasions in which a client doesn’t get offered the best products or the assistance they need just because the company doesn’t consider the importance of keeping their clients happy and helping them when in need. Customer support should be effective, treat you with respect and have communication skills. This is essential to make sure your experience with your provider turns out to be a positive one.
Considering these main points should help you decide the right telecom provider for your home or business. Another great way to help you decide your network provider is to read customer reviews about these companies. Here are some telecom services that you may want to look into:

- Chitter Chatter
- Lebara

Really good network
Very transparant network. Got the data I didn't use back every month, pretty nice as this does not happen at most other networks Read onBy: Paul S.
